Nunsense II: The Second Coming is the sequel to last season’s popular musical, Nunsense. The same five nuns are back on stage at Mt. Saint Helen's School with new songs, dances, and foibles. The five irrepressible sisters keep the show going in their own comic ways while they overcome a variety of hurdles in this musical that will again leave you laughing and tapping your toes.
A long-run Los Angeles hit, Mrs. California is a brightly satiric comedy that pokes wickedly good fun at the pretentious hokum of a 1950s hotly contested homemakers’ competition. The contestants are judged not only on their abilities to craft meatloaf, but also on their quick ironing, sewing, and responses to questions such as “What is your proudest moment as a homemaker.” This wonderfully funny and witty play is a sure crowd-pleaser.
On December 6, 1941, Brenda Anderson is having the most wonderful life anyone can imagine, lead singer in the most popular group in town, homecoming queen, and engaged to the best-looking guy in town. Then, comes December 7 and Pearl Harbor. Her fiancée is off to war, and she joins a USO singing group in hopes of finding him somewhere in the South Pacific. This is a light-hearted, fast-paced swinging tribute to the music of World War II.
In this sequel to the ever-popular Smoke on the Mountain, the Sanders family returns to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, NC, on Christmas Eve, 1941. Reverend Oglethorpe has invited them to sing and witness, getting the congregation into the holiday spirit before the boys are shipped off to World War II. More than two dozen Christmas carols and gospel songs plus a dose of hilarious yuletide testimonials from the Sanders family keep the audience laughing, clapping and singing along. Richly entertaining, this wildly infectious musical brings cheer to audiences eager to see their friends from Smoke on the Mountain.
A musical version of the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women: A Musical tells the story of the March family during the Civil War. You will rejoice in the joys, sorrows, loves, losses, and the legendary sense of humor of the determined Meg, tomboyish Jo, quiet Beth, and youngest Amy. Area youth join the BRDT company to bring this timeless drama to life with more than twelve brand new songs.
